A sideboard with a second life.
A piece of furniture that explores the possibilities of wood as a material.

Selected elements were salvaged from an old sideboard that was close to being discarded and transferred into a new context. The existing teak veneer surfaces form the starting point. They are set within a deep black contrast and flush routed to create a seamless plane.

This results in a clear, strong line composition that emphasizes the interplay between old and new. The newly developed wooden elements move to the forefront without overshadowing the history of the material. Instead, the piece deliberately draws attention to the reclaimed veneer, once overlooked, and its inherent quality.

The sideboard reads as a dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and modern panel-based construction, between past and present. The contrast is not only expressed through color, but also through the story of the materials, which ultimately come together as a coherent whole.
